UW-Stevens Point | North Chiller Plant

UW Stevens Point required a new chiller plant to support the campus growth as the existing two (2) facilities were reaching the maximum capacity.  The north chiller plant added 2000 tons of cooling to campus with two (2) centrifugal, water cooled chillers configured in a variable primary flow arrangement with a four-cell cooling tower.

The new plant connects to the existing plants serving campus to allow any chillers to serve the campus loop based on the load and location.

Within the plant air to water heat pumps are utilized to heat the entire building in the winter with the use of the campus chilled water loop acting similar to a geothermal system.
